local.ch is the search engine of 2,737 Swiss municipalities that include Arbon, Wädenswil and Montreux. It offers users quick and easy access to the local information they require, whether it be the contact details of an individual or business, upcoming events or small ads.
Location-based
New user interfaces are needed to ensure information accessibility and usability. Liip has played a major part in the front end development of local.ch. Although development work using PHP5, Ajax and Flash continues, the pace of innovation and system stability remain as high as ever.
Award-winning
local.ch swept the boards at the 2007 Best of Swiss Web Awards. In recognition of its targeted interactivity and its functional added-value through the use of web 2.0 technologies, it won the top prize “Master of Swiss Web” and came first in the “Technology Quality” category.
