MyFoodRepo was originally designed for clinical nutritional studies, by researchers, for researchers. It is now also available to the general public, making food tracking technology accessible to all. Thanks to artificial intelligence, and machine learning, participants no longer have to track their food manually with the latest app update.

The Challenge

Before MyFoodRepo, dietary tracking faced significant challenges in the research field. Food logging was manual and very time-consuming, and prone to inaccuracy, leading to inconsistent data. Existing apps provided limited nutritional information, focusing mainly on calories without detailed micronutrient breakdowns, not precise enough for medical studies.

User engagement and retention were low due to the tedious nature of manual entry. Users had to write down everything manually. Data from these apps rarely contributed to broader nutritional research due to privacy concerns that limited user participation.

Since 2019, our multi-site research team has used MyFoodRepo with great satisfaction. The app's AI-assisted food recognition and easy-to-master interface have enabled us to finely assess nutritional content for numerous study participants in various clinical studies.
