EventManager

EventManager is an online game from PostFinance geared towards the 13-20 age group. Its aim is to help young people to learn how to manage their money. Liip has used barrier-free technologies to develop this flash game, which is one of very few online educational games that are also accessible for blind and physically disabled users.

Skill-enhancing

In today’s consumer society young people are expected to be financially savvy. The online educational game, EventManager, gives them the chance to put these skills to the test. Players have fun acquiring the know-how needed to plan, budget and manage an event successfully.

Barrier-free

Players can navigate this freely accessible flash game with either keyboard commands or with screen readers. EventManager is one of only a handful of games available on the web that is screenreader-compatible. This highly complex, barrier-free flash game from PostFinance was developed in close cooperation with the Swiss foundation “Access for All”, which promotes the use of technology for people with disabilities. It was also the first barrier-free flash game in Switzerland to be awarded WCAG 2.0 AA Plus certification.

Sophisticated

Liip worked closely with its partner LerNetz on the implementation of the online EventManager platform. Using standard technologies (Adobe Flash, FluxCMS and Moodle), Liip managed to programme the extensive web platform as well as the technically demanding flash game in the space of one year.
