A “smart city” uses technologies to improve the quality of life of its citizens, to use energy more efficiently and to boost the local economy.
But what does a smart city have to do with open data? The simple fact is that to become smart, a city needs to have access to a wealth of information. And the best source of such information? Data, of course, and preferably of the open variety because the more open the data are, the greater the opportunities they create.
The talks will feature examples of the different approaches to data handling among and illustrate how open access to data can make cities smarter.
Talks:
- José Ibarra, consultant at Innobridge
