Finally found some time to work on the new php5 extensions ext/dom, ext/xsl and ext/simplexml. Cool stuff Rob Richards (and Marcus and Sterling) did in the last monts in this regard. One of the most cool features is the php-streams support almost everywhere in the new extensions. So

something like is now possible. Also with Xincludes and document() within XPath. This allows whole new possibilities for projects like popoon.
