The drupal features moduleĀ is a module which helps developers port content or configuration stuff from an instance to another instance, like web developers need to do between local, development, staging and production instances of a same site. The featurable stuff, i.e. stuff that features transport is however limited.

But today is hackday at Liip! A triple of liipers, Moritz, Laurent and BenoĆ®t gathered in Lausanne this morning to make drupal wysiwyg profiles featurable. In a few hours, based on the example of how the features module makes input filters featurable, we got acquainted to the drupal features APIĀ and the drupal wysiwyg moduleĀ and came up with a module that does just what we wanted: make wysiwyg profiles featurable.

We actually were surprised by the overall simplicity of the features API and did not use ctools (not needed) or entity (not ready) exportables as has been advised, so pleasantly surprisedĀ that the rest of the day was spent integrating it into the drupal project we actually work on, and contributing our effort back to the community.
