TEDx - make a wish

Destination Tomorrow

We have been partner of various TEDx programmes for many years. This year, we sponsored TEDx events in Bern, Fribourg and are about to go to Geneva. TEDx is a forum for ‘ideas worth spreading’. It consists of self-organised events in various cities. As part of last year’s ‘Destination Tomorrow’ TEDx event at HSG in St. Gallen, we wanted to show how innovation and digitalisation could be combined.
The wish tree
We worked on visions of the future with around 400 participants across seven lecture halls at HSG. The focal point of the event was our wish tree. A wish tree is a living tree, either indoors or outdoors, onto which wishes are hung. The wishes symbolically grow towards the sky with the tree, and so are incorporated into the greater whole. Participants at the event could write down one or more wishes and attach them to our wish tree. There was the possibility to send us the wishes online too: https://makeawish.liip.ch/ We looked through all the wishes, and were astonished by what we found!

Young people wished for world peace and sustainability – and a relationship.

The majority of the wishes were about the well-being of humans and nature. ‘World peace’ and ‘green technologies for all’ made an appearance. Most young people and participants wished for a more peaceful world and for sustainability. We thought this was remarkable! Of course, there were also personal wishes such as successfully completing a university degree, which is of course perfectly OK. One wish particularly caught our eye: ‘I wish for a girlfriend’. He hung his number on the wish tree. Hats off for audacity! Although we could not couple him up, we gave him a cool present for his pluckiness.

Outlook for TEDx events

There are will be more TEDx events for us to come in 2019. The wishes collected at the TEDx in St. Gallen touched us, so we are making another wish tree in Geneva. This will follow the same concept but be in a different format. Do French-speaking Swiss people have different wishes? We will find out on 7 November. Les Jours qui viennent – TEDx Geneva. We are once again organising a Liip bar. Meet us there! Or send us your wish online: https://makeawish.liip.ch/

Workshop and conference at the Swiss Web Festival

The Swiss Web Festival is a meeting point for web, audiovisual, communications and new media professionals. Its aim is to share and exchange knowledge. As a leader in open source and a professional in user experience and web development, we also believe sharing knowledge is essential! This is why we will take part in this Festival!

Surround yourself with the right partners

When it comes to digital communications or web development, we find ourselves facing a huge range of partners and possibilities. These days it's essential to surround yourself with partners who are not just efficient, but also able to understand your needs. For this reason, we propose you a workshop which will help you express your needs and choosing a partner.

Workshop: Writing a brief and selecting an offer

Expressing your needs is difficult but it's essential to the success of a project. And in some situations it can be especially complex!

In this workshop, Darja, Thierry and Thomas share the keys to expressing your needs for your next project.

In just 60 minutes you'll save an enormous amount of time in the future, thanks to much more productive conversations with your future partners!

Supporting innovation through organisation

While enterprises need to innovate, it's also a risk. A management system can support the emergence of ideas and initiatives. We offer you the opportunity to discover our internal management system, which helps you to both optimise your employees' strengths and develop them (we won the Best Employers Award in the French-Speaking Switzerland in the SME category in April 2016).

Talk: Holacracy - a new system of business management to boost effectiveness?

Isaline and Laurent explain an organisational system they use every day from the inside out.

As managers, we want a system that allows our business to achieve its objectives while using its resources as efficiently as possible.

As employees, we want a business where we can fulfil our potential and feel recognised for our contribution.

So are you ready to do away with line management?

We'll be there with our green smoothies bar, in the partners' area, during the 3 days of the Swiss Web Festival. We'd love to see you!

Join us at the Mad Club in Lausanne, try a smoothie and join us for our workshop and conference!

During our 4 years in Rue de Bourg, Liip Lausanne grew from 3 to 12 people. Needing more space, we moved in the summer of 2015 to Rue Etraz, where we have 800 m2 over two floors. We have celebrated twice (most recently in February, when we launched our new co-working ThinkSpace) and, 12 months later, we are well established here.

Collaboration and innovation

Our move has allowed us to open a co-working space which now hosts 7 teams, with 35 people in total. Ideas and advice flow freely and our co-workers open up new horizons for us (as at this Foraus workshop).

Projects and expertise: from your objectives to implementation

Whether through consultancy, audit, or development, our new premises enable us to offer you an even better welcome and outdo ourselves in delivering your projects. We are here to help you, whatever the challenges you face. We organise workshops to define your objectives with you. We use audits or tests to analyse existing blockers and produce recommendations to overcome them. And we support you in the implementation of your project.
